FALL GENERAL ASSEMBLY OCTOBER 28, 2018 IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING DIVING LITURGY. A LIGHT LUNCH WILL BE SERVED.
From the Parish Council
As the Parish Council, we wanted to inform everyone that
the parish bylaws will be adhered to for the good order of
the Church. In following our parish bylaws only Orthodox
Christians who are in good standing and financial stewards
of the parish are afforded the privilege to participate in any
Assembly and the Sacraments of the Church.
Per our parish bylaws, a parishioner is an individual who
has been baptized and/or chrismated Orthodox and
receives the Sacraments regularly in our parish.
Parishioners are required to also be stewards of the parish.
A steward of the parish is someone who has made a
financial commitment to our parish.
Individuals can be stewards of our parish, but if not
Orthodox Christians they cannot participate in the
Sacraments of the Church and are not afforded the
privilege of voting and addressing the body at any
Assembly meetings. According to the Uniform Parish
Regulations of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of
America, our Annunciation Parish By-Laws and the
Canons of our Holy Orthodox Church, an individual must
meet all of the following criteria in order to vote and
address the body at all Assembly meetings:
1. An individual must be an Orthodox Christian.
2. An individual must regularly participate in the
Sacraments of the Church.
3. An individual must have made a stewardship pledge and
fulfilled it for the previous year.
4. An individual must have made a stewardship pledge and
made a payment toward it in the current year.
The cutoff date to have fulfilled all the above criteria
in order to vote and participate in the Fall General
Assembly on October 28, will be October 1. Those
individuals who qualify as parishioners in good standing
will be listed on the General Assembly roster.
We are thankful to Jesus Christ for all of you!

College Student Information Request
We are requesting contact information on our parish’s college/university students. Please forward the following information to Carol at the Church Office, firstname.lastname@example.org: Name of Student, College/University Attending Address, Email, Phone This is a great way for your student to stay connected to his/her home church while at school. Thank you for your assistance!
The first Sunday of every month is designated as “Youth Sunday”
Students learn about the life of the church by participating in various roles during the Divine Liturgy. They serve our Lord by greeting parishioners, assuming ushering duties, singing in the choir, leading the congregation in The Lord’s Prayer, The Creed and reading The Epistle. In addition, a collection tray is passed to help defray the cost of our new books and Catechism School curricular needs. We wish to thank all of the parishioners who so generously give!
STEWARDSHIP 2018: PROVIDING FOR THE FUTURE, SERVING THE PRESENT
Please remember to turn in your 2018 pledge card. Many parishioners have yet to pledge their financial commitment to our parish for the current year. Regular payment is very important too. Bills are paid on a regular basis not just at the end of the year. Please make your financial commitment to your parish today!
