FEBRUARY 25-SUNDAY OF ORTHODOXY

There will be a procession through the church at the end of Divine Liturgy led by the priest with our current council president, past council presidents, archons, and the Catechism School. Please bring an icon to carry.

FIRST CONFESSIONS

On Saturday, March 3, the Sacrament of First Confession will be offered to our 3rd and 4th grade Catechism School students at 10:00 am. There will be a lecture with confessions to follow. Pizza and refreshments will be provided. We will need a few parents to help chaperone so please volunteer. The following Sunday morning at Divine Liturgy those children who partook of the Sacrament of Confession will be the first to receive Holy Communion while holding lit candles in celebration of the renewal of their baptism through repentance. We must instill in our children from a young age that there is joy in experiencing God’s forgiveness through this great Sacrament!

The first Sunday of every month is designated as “Youth Sunday”

Students learn about the life of the church by participating in various roles during the Divine Liturgy. They serve our Lord by greeting parishioners, assuming ushering duties, singing in the choir, leading the congregation in The Lord’s Prayer, The Creed and reading The Epistle. In addition, a collection tray is passed to help defray the cost of our new books and Catechism School curricular needs. We wish to thank all of the parishioners who so generously give!

STEWARDSHIP 2018: PROVIDING FOR THE FUTURE, SERVING THE PRESENT

Please remember to turn in your 2018 pledge card. Many parishioners have yet to pledge their financial commitment to our parish for the current year. Regular payment is very important too. Bills are paid on a regular basis not just at the end of the year. Please make your financial commitment to your parish today!
